Pearl Jam has confirmed that they will release a new album, & # 39; Gigaton & # 39; – Music News

The US grunge outfit will release their 11th studio album – their first since 2013, & # 39; Lightning Bolt & # 39; March 27th, and guitarist Mike McCready admits that he made the album "emotionally dark and sometimes confusing".

In a statement, he said: "Recording this record was a long journey.

" It was sometimes emotionally dark and confusing, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical salvation.

"Working with my bandmates at & # 39; Gigaton & # 39; ultimately gave me more love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times."

The first single from the record, & # 39; Dance the Clairvoyant is expected to fall in the coming weeks.

In addition to a new album, the band has also announced a North America tour that will begin in Toronto on March 18.

The "Even Flow" hitmakers will travel to Baltimore, New York and Nashville, among others, before ending the show on April 18 and 19 with two dates in Oakland.

The group also travels to Europe later this year.

In December it was confirmed that Pearl Jam – founded in 1990 – will celebrate its 30th anniversary this summer by performing as a headliner in British Summer Time Hyde Park on the American Express sponsored concert series on 10 July at London's landmark with the Special Guests Pixies and White Reaper.

The Special Show is the only date of its European tour in the United Kingdom.

The group will travel to Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Poland, France and Hungary as part of their European tour.
